Cecil County resident Kevin Joseph Ardoin, of Elkton, was arrested and charged with eight counts of possession of child pornography following an investigation by the Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

In September, the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit launched an investigation into the possession of child pornography online, during which Ardoin was identified as a possible suspect.

Troopers served a warrant at Ardoin's Cecil County home, officials said, and a review of his electronic devices revealed multiple child pornography files that were saved and he was arrested without incident at the scene.

Ardoin was transported to the Cecil County Detention Center and later released on $10,000 bail.
